Me? How do I strip paint? Unless there are multiple layers of old paint, or I need to fill a dent, I don't worry about removing the old paint. Dry sand with 220 grit paper, shoot a good primer (PPG or if I'm on the cheap, Rustoleum rattle can auto primer, great stuff, it's laquer/urethane safe). If I absolutely need to strip a panel or section or panel, 36 paper on a body grinder for steel, a soft steel or brass wire whell for non-ferrous metals/cast iron. Chemicals, phooey. I don't need no stinking chemicals. Besides, I have more fun doing it right. If you don't get all the residue from the stripper off (treat the metal with PPG DX330), it'll just work through and wreck your paint job anyway.
